Cheers to 30 Years!
Brad & I feel blessed to be celebrating 30 years of marriage together! Our dream is go Full Time in our RV, Daylos! So, we celebrated our Marriage Anniversary, Brad’s Birthday and the beauty around us on a great trip!
We stayed at Talona Ridge RV Resort and really enjoyed this resort! It was beautiful, new & the staff was very nice. They even had entertainment come in and perform at Grandview Hall! This was nice as we enjoyed a drink & walked back to our RV!
Seems like Yesterday!
Married on PI Day!
Happy Birthday, Brad!
Brad LOVES Burger King ….. Annual Birthday celebrations!
Now our Get-A-Way Celebrations!
Located in northern Georgia in a small town named Ellijay (pronounced Ella Jay). It is a cute town complete with small shops & quaint restaurants. What an amazing area to visit!
And there is a lot of outdoor hiking activity in the area which is great for us especially with our dog, Dewey!
I have tried to highlight the areas that we visited while in this area for the first time!
- Talona Ridge RV Resort
- Engelheim Vineyards
- Rich Mountain – Cartecay Tract
- Amicalola Falls
Talona Ridge RV Resort!
We got very excited when we reached our destination in East Ellijay, GA! This new RV Resort is beautiful! We got our site set up on the Eagle Crest tier, walked the dog and then relaxed while we made our plans for the week!
We had an end site and thought that it was one of the most beautiful sites. This is the highest level of the resort which is 1550 feet above Sea Level! We enjoyed the view from our site!
Country Corner Kitchen
Our neighbor @ the RV Resort told us about a great restaurant for lunch. Cuban cuisine provides authentic food at this restaurant that was tucked in by the Texaco Station. I may not have mentioned that local independent restaurants are my FAVORITE when we travel so this was perfect!
Tucked in by Texaco
You can have perfectly cooked fish tacos, cuban sandwiches and fried chicken. I heard you can have good Sangria at this place.
Where Everyone is Family
This was painted on the wall with the saying above “Where everyone is family” & they were so nice, it made us feel that way!
We are coming Back!!!
Wow! Maybe we should have split something! This would be good after a great hike in the area!
Hiking/Walking/Exploring!
We took a couple hikes in the area and it was awesome to get out with Dewey and EXPLORE!!
Our Visit to Engelheim Vineyards
Our friends, George & Pam live in the Georgia and were able to join us for a fabulous afternoon/evening. We ventured out to the Engelheim Vineyards and had an enjoyable afternoon trying new wine and catching up! Then it was back to the RV for more time together before they headed home. It was great because we worked with George over 20 years earlier and got to meet his wife!!!!
Amicalola Falls State Park
We. Did. It.
This climb was beautiful and I have to Thank Brad for encouraging me to do this challenge! It meant a lot to us since my balance and therefore, stairs (especially going down them) were harder after the Proton radiation on my brain tumor! I have to admit, I was pretty darn Happy – I DID IT!
Time to enjoy NY Pizza!
On our way there, we met up for lunch with my Uncle Jerry & cousin Carrie!
After we toured our RV we got to see Carrie’s new car!
My first time seeing a Mustang MAch-E!
I liked it!
Cheers To 30 Years!
We had a great trip and hope to come back and explore even more!
