We Get to See Amanda!

We found out that Amanda was in Vegas for work….so we asked her if she would be there with us AND she changed her flight to spend a couple days with us.  On this first day we met up and headed to The Old Town Area of Boulder City for some exploring and food!  Then we would head to the Bridge to check it out!  In the picture above we are outside The Coffee Cup Cafefor a bite to eat!

I found this excerpt on the Website:

Come in to The Cup and see what all the fuss is about!  Besides our award-winning, excellent, home-made food, we have lots of fun pictures and props to look at.  And of course, we can’t forget our great customers!  We can’t wait to see you too!”

Tracy & Daylos

And Daylos needs to be fixed!  So here he is getting ready to go into the shop!

Since we were so excited to get the day started right, we got some fun drinks!    Bloody Mary’s and don’t get them very often however, this was the PERFECT time to begin the day right!  And we did!

After a great meal, we decided to walk around a bit and then head to our next Adventure!

A Few more pictures from The Old Town Area!

MONUMENTAL PROFESSOR

Artist Gregory Johnson created “Monumental Professor,” a great horned owl atop a stack of books. His attention to detail is a hallmark of his sculptures. The professor has taken up residence on Nevada Way in front of the World Famous Coffee Cup.

HITCHIN’ A RIDE

by L’Deane Trueblood, artist

“When the government built Boulder City, it didn’t plan for children. But, as the Depression drove workers into southern Nevada to build Hoover Dam, workers brought their families with them. The new town and surrounding desert provided an exciting playground for the children,

who hiked the hills, caught lizards and snakes, or built little dams in their sandy backyards. On Saturday afternoons, children rode their bikes on brand new sidewalks to the Boulder Theatre for a Three Stooges matinee, down to Delmar’s Drugstore for a nickel Coke, or around the park under the newly planted trees.

Fremont Street Experience

Oops…Tracy Fell….

WOW – I was amazed at the Light Show and all of the sights in this area!  However, had some bad luck when walking back to the car…I fell (not sure what tripped me up – could have just been me).  But when I looked even worse the next day we headed to get it checked out.  They bandaged it up and told me to find a Hand Surgeon to see next week!  Good News is that we went to the doctor on Tuesday and they bandaged it a bit better and confirmed it was broken!  Said may need surgery but, we decided to wait and see!

I was pretty chill while Brad attended his Annual Sales Conference @ The Bellagio!!

Temporary Bandage…Broke my Ring Finger!

I hit pretty hard and broke the glasses I was wearing! Glad I have extra!

“Infinite Prosperity: The Year of the Dragon”

The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio are redesigned each season as well as for the Chinese New Year.

I was amazed walking through this display and loved learning about the Chinese New Year!!!

 Shelby Heritage Center

Brad had a Shelby before RVing Full Time – This was a MUST see for him!!!  Click above for their website.

Established in 2013, Shelby Heritage Center is home to over 25 Shelby vehicles and tells the story of Carroll Shelby (1923 – 2012) along with the company he started in 1962. The Heritage Center is constantly revising its vehicle inventory and placement to keep things fresh.  It does sit adjacent to the 150,000 square-foot production facility, however we just did the Self-Guided Tour and The Store !!

 Honey Salt Valentine Dinner!

Brad & I decided to do an early Valentine’s Day Celebration so we headed to “Honey Salt” which was referred to us by a co-worker of Brad’s!

It was a fabulous night out complete with a great dinner and service as well!!!

And they have a cookbook!!

Kim Canteenwalla and
Honey Salt – Las Vegas, Nevada

I found this article – “”In 2012, Chef Canteenwalla and his wife, Elizabeth Blau, opened the critically acclaimed neighborhood restaurant “Honey Salt” on the west side of Las Vegas, and also partnered with Buddy Valastro’s (TLC’s Cake Boss) first restaurant in Las Vegas, “Buddy V’s””

Did I mention that we were there on Super Bowl 2024 Weekend?

There is more information on that part and the story of the RV problems on another post –

I have linked to that BLOG here.
