My First Elk Rapids Garden Walk!

The mission of Elk Rapids Garden Club tour is to preserve northern Michigan’s beauty through water and land conservation.

Sandy & I enjoyed the  “Keep it Blue: Celebrate Water” garden walk.  This was the first walk for both of us so there was some confusion on where to start etc.  The stops that we got to tour were beautiful and we learned a lot about the Elk Rapids community & would love to explore more.  Note: One thing that we learned is that it is too far to walk between the various displays but, beautiful walks at each location!

“It’s a huge trend to show gardens are important to the environment, if done right,” said event chair Deanna Seifried.

The self-paced tour exhibits six gardens along the Bay, Torch and Elk lakes, each designed to protect the waters with native plants and buffers. Gardens showcase dune plantings, a no-mow landscape, unique yard art and more.
