Daylos Resting on Site D12
Here is the side view of our coach. Brad was a bit stressed because the campground was all stones! And the maintenance crew was using the tractor to smooth them and creating A LOT of dust when we got there. Other than that the campground was nice but, quite a drive back to Carlsbad city area.
And we did get to explore Carlsbad a bit and the helpful staff from this KOA led us to a good restaurant for dinner!
“Find the good. It’s all around you. Find it, showcase it and you’ll start believing in it.” – Jesse Owens
We were on this row & forgot to take a picture from the front window – oops.
I did enjoy walking around this campground and taking pictures. Also took a lot of pictures on our drive here as I have not been to NM in over 30 years and then it was flying into Albuquerque.
Halagueno Arts Park
.
We enjoyed exploring the park which is on the property by the Carlsbad Museum and the Carlsbad Public Library!
I took several pictures shown below however, there are more to see and nice to walk around on a nice day!

John Wooten Bronze Bust
John was drafted in the fifth round (53rd overall) of the 1959 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, where he would play left guard for the next nine seasons.
Brad was pretty excited to see this since he grew up in the Cleveland suburbs and has been a “Cleveland Browns” fan since he can remember! He played for the Browns when they won the 1964 NFL Championship Game!
Where Should We EAT?
When we asked at the KOA for a good Local Place to grab dinner, they suggested “El Jimador”. I admit that I am glad they suggested this as it was on a busy street and it would have been hard to find without the recommendation – it was WORTH it – Good Dinner! I did get the picture of the restaurant from the internet as it looks better than mine! The address is: 509 S Canal St, Carlsbad, NM 88220
Carlsbad, NM KOA Park Walk
I loved walking around and seeing all of the unique items at this campground – Antique fire engine – made the walk more interesting!
It was a great quick visit ….
but, time to move onto Albuquerque! Oh yeah and this is where we were when the slide out began giving us trouble – Hit the Road – Quickly!!
